Principal's Message - May 2010
Dear Arlington Families and Friends,
May is an exciting month for our Arlington Super Stars, it is
jam-packed!
Arlington named an official 2010 California Distinguished
School It is with such excitement that I get to announce Arlington’s
official title as a 2010 California Distinguished School! I want to
thank you all for your tremendous support for our school and your
child’s education. It truly makes me proud to be the principal at such a
wonderful place!
Arlington Staff Appreciation Week
The month of May is packed full of many different events, our calendar
is full! We start the month off with our Arlington Staff Appreciation
Week, honoring our teachers, staff, custodian, health clerk, secretary,
and support staff. Please join me in showing all of them our
appreciation for all they have done for our Super Stars.
CSTs - California State Testing
California State Tests (CST) are also administered this month for 2nd –
5th graders. Please see the schedule for testing.
Adventures In Art Gallery 5/21
Following the three-weeks devoted to testing, Arlington will open our
cafeteria to the infamous Adventures in Art Gallery night on May 21st
from 6 – 8 p.m. I hope you will be able to join us for this extravagant
event where your child’s artwork will be on display. We will also be
entertained with music under the direction of our own, Mr. Kamida.
Open House, May 27th
We wrap up the month with our Open House on May 27th with a PTA meeting
at 6:00 p.m., classroom visits from 6:30 – 7:30. We will celebrate this
event with a delicious ice cream social from 7:15 – 8:30 p.m. YUM!
PHEW! Like I said, our calendar is jam packed!
Please look at the CST schedule in this newsletter so you know when
your Super Star will be taking their state assessments. Thank you again
for all you do and your continued support.
