PTA President's Message - December 2009
Hello Arlington Families,
Where does the time go? It is hard to believe another month of school
has come and gone. Time seems to be going by so fast….
October ended with Red Ribbon Week. This year’s theme was “I’ve Got
Better Things To Do than Drugs.” In addition to the week long
activities, which included a wear red day, a wear your team colors day,
a lunchtime dance celebration, an assembly, and lastly “Say BOO to Drugs
Day ” our Arlington Superstars also hung ribbons around our school to
show our support of saying no to drugs. The children’s posters that they
entered in the poster contest were also hung and displayed around the
school grounds. Thank you to Ray Hsieh for once again organizing this
very valuable and informative week and for showing our kids the
importance of saying “No to Drugs!!!”
Arlington’s traditional and annual Halloween parade was held on the
Friday before Halloween. What a sight to see all the children parade
around in their costumes along with some of their teachers as well!!!
The kindergarteners had a wonderful, “flowery” performance. They all
looked so cute out there. It was a good time and a morning full of fun
for everyone.
Thank you to Paula Samora for organizing our 1st Box Tops drawing of
the year that was held at the beginning of the month. What a way to
reward our amazing students for turning in their box tops. They all
start to add up and once again, the proceeds help to benefit Arlington.
Congratulations to our box top winners and congratulations and thank you
to all of our students, families and friends for continuing to support
our school!!!
The Arlington Holiday Marketplace was held the first weekend of
November. For those who were not able to attend, mark your calendars for
next year. Once again, Arlington families and friends were treated to an
extraordinary Saturday outing. There were vendors galore, food, music,
and just lots of fun. It was a great event. Thank you so much once again
to Sharon Sawai for organizing an amazing extravaganza for so many of
our Arlington families and friends to enjoy!!!
Please join us at the next PTA Association Meeting that will be held
on Thursday, December 10th and come and enjoy the second grade classes
Holiday Performance which will follow immediately after the meeting.
Their program is sure to be a real treat and a great way to get us all
into the spirit of the holidays.
Lastly, with the holidays right upon us, it is my hope and wishes to
all of you to have a wonderful and happy Holiday Season!!!
Until next year, be safe, enjoy and most of all, take care….
