PTA President's Message - November 2007Hello Arlington Families, October is over and we have had a very busy month. Our fall fundraiser has come to a close and we will soon be receiving our gift-wrap and other goodies that we’ve purchased. Thank you to Alicia Mashiko, Kristin Ishida, and all the volunteers for all their hard work. The money raised will go to fund field trips, assemblies, library books, computer software, adventures in art, and other programs. Our fifth grade class had a successful first project as students packed up emergency packs that many of you purchased. Close to 350 emergency packs were sold! Family portraits, Holiday Marketplace Spam musubi and pizza booth, Sees Candy fundraisers, are in the works. Please email Pauline Hirabayashi at pyh@compusource.com if you have a fifth grader and are interested in volunteering. Thank you to all parents and families for supporting our Wellness Policy. This could be challenging for some of our students, as we strive for a healthier learning environment. I’m sure we will see an improvement in our children as we promote exercise and more nutritious snacks as part of our daily routines. Finally, with all the devastating fires all across southern California, our hearts go out to all those affected by these disasters.
