PTA President's Message - June 2008Hello Arlington Families, Can you believe summer is around the corner? We have had a fabulous year here at Arlington. With the wonderful teaching staff along with a great principal and you wonderful parents and grandparents, we continue to give our kids the healthiest environment for success. Thank you for all your time and support that make Arlington a wonderful place to learn. I hope you all had a chance to stop by Arlington to be amazed at all the artwork showcased at our annual Adventures in Art Gallery. Thank you to Diane Wang and her wonderful docents for all time spent in teaching our students various artists’ techniques and displaying their accomplishments. Thank you to all our 5-star volunteers for serving up all the smoothies and yummy snacks. Open House was a family event that was enjoyed by all who attended. Thank you to all the teachers who showcased your child’s accomplishments in their classrooms. It is amazing what our kids can achieve in one short year. Thank you to Charlene Sakatani and all her volunteers for a wonderful Ice Cream Social where we enjoyed ice cream sundaes and floats before and after visiting the classrooms. We have just finished up a week of thanking our wonderful teachers for all they do to for our children. Our teachers here at Arlington truly lay a strong foundation our students can build their future on. Please take a moment to thank your child’s teacher for all they’ve done this past year. Thank you to Tim Hartlove for another wonderful Book Fair. I hope everyone had a chance to pick some great summer reads at bargain prices. What a great kick off to a fabulous summer of reading. I want to thank all the PTA board and chairmen for all they have done for Arlington these past two years. We could not have accomplished all the events and programs without the PTA behind the scenes. I have been honored to serve as your president for the past two years. As my youngest son moves on to Casimir, I know I am leaving Arlington in very capable hands. Please join me in congratulating Alicia Mashiko as your next PTA president. I have every confidence in her skills to lead the PTA in the upcoming years. Our Children Are Our Shining Future.
