PTA President's Message - February 2008
Hello Arlington Families,
We have had a terrific week of buying great books and donating books
for our classrooms during our Scholastic Book Fair. A big thank you
to Tim Hartlove and his crew for working all those long hours and
moving around to accommodate all the other activities that were
booked for the cafetorium during the week. Our apologies to Mr.
Kamida and his music students who were displaced over the weekend.
Thank you also to all the families who came out on the weekend to support
the fifth grade by buying hot dogs, chili rice, taco boats, and drinks
during the family book fair days. The next fifth grade fundraiser will
be a fun family night at Pat and Oscar’s on Monday, February 11th, details
to follow.
There are many programs yet to come. You are all invited to our annual
Founders Day/Honorary Service Awards Program to be held on Thursday,
February 21st in the cafetorium. We will have a brief PTA association
meeting at 6:30, along with the announcement of the PTA Reflections
winners. Immediately following will be our Founders Day/
Honorary Service Awards Program. Our fourth grade students will be
providing the evenings’ entertainment. Please join us as we celebrate
the birthday of the PTA and honor a few individuals who were chosen
for their service to youth and community.
I hope you all will try to make it out to our Lomeli’s Spaghetti Dinner
to be held Friday, February 29th 2008 in the cafetorium. Please see our
flyer in this newsletter to reserve your dinner. The fifth grade class
will
be your waitresses and waiters for this fun family evening. We will be
leaping for Lomeli’s!
