PTA President's Message - January 2008Hello Arlington Families, Happy New Year! I hope you’ve all had a memorable, restful holiday vacation. Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions? How about spending more quality time with your children, both at school and home? We are always looking for parents who have a few hours to give to all of our children. Our Scholastic Book Fair will be coming to Arlington from January 18th through January 26th. Our Chairperson, Tim Hartlove, will be bringing a large assortment of books for the children to purchase. Proceeds made will go toward new books for our classrooms. On Saturday, January 26th, there will be a family day for you to check out the books with your kids; the fifth grade class will be selling snacks to raise money to purchase their yearbooks and tshirts. If you have an hour or two to help out, please call Tim Hartlove at 310-329-2112. If you work during the day and cannot make it down to school, we have an opportunity for you to help out at night. On Thursday, January 31st, we will be having our Family Math Night for second and third graders. We could use a few parents to help set up, clean up, and/or assisting the teachers. Please call Miho Noda at 310-516-1909 if you want to help. The PTA nominating committee is currently preparing a slate of officers for the 2008-2009 school year. This slate will be presented at the association meeting on February 21st at our Founder’s Day/Honorary Service Awards Program. Voting will take place on April 24th at the Family Math Night.
