The normal school day starts at 8:50AM
for grades K and 4-5 and at 8:59AM for grades 1-3. The normal day
ends at 1:50PM for grade K and at 3:12PM (M,Tu,Th,F) / 2:27PM (W) for

Parents may add money to their child's debit account by
bringing cash or checks made payable to TUSD to the school office or
cafeteria. You will be notified when your child's lunch account balance falls below
$5 so that you can replenish it. For a 3% convenience charge, you can also
add money to their debit account online at the
MySchoolBucks website. |

If my child is absent from school,
do I need to send a note with them upon their return? |

Schools are required by law to account
for student absences. When a pupil returns to school following an
absence, he/she must bring a note signed by a parent or guardian
giving exact dates and reason for absence. See the School

Is there any childcare on campus? |

The Torrance-South Bay YMCA has a
childcare site on the Arlington Elementary campus. It is open for
before-school care from 6:30AM to 8:30AM, then reopens for
after-school care from 1:30PM to 6:00PM. You can contact the
